Deanna’s Famous Apple Pie

Since the holiday season is upon us, I have figured that it would be wonderful if I started this brand new blog with my famous Apple Pie recipe.  Let’s be serious, who doesn’t love apple pie on a cold wintery night?  Add a little ice cream and BOOM! Awesome dessert right at your fingertips.  This is probably one of the easiest apple pie recipes you will EVER find.

Here is what you will need:

  • Two Pre-Made Pie Crusts (I personally use Pillsbury because it is the most readily available)
  • 3 Granny Smith Apples–Medium in size
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp Milk
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Egg for wash
  • SAM_2395

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.

Peel and slice apples into tiny pieces.

Add sugar, cinnamon, and flour to the apples.  Mix until completely coated.

Once added, put the mixture into the bottom pie crust.  Add butter and milk into the crust.  Place the top crust over the filling.  Here comes the hard part–folding over and fluting.  Oh no!!!  It is really hard for some people.  What I did was fairly easy.  I just fold the upper crust over the lower crust and tuck it into the pan.  Once it is flat, I flute the edges–just take your thumbs and squeeze.  It’s THAT easy!  Crack an egg and put the egg wash over the pie and cut slits into the crust (so it won’t puff up) and place in the oven for 45-60 minutes (I reach perfection around 50 minutes).
